EASTER MILESTONES

Okay Everyone,

It's time to see what the other team is doing!

Team TED v Team Eninroth are in the milestone presentation to END THEM ALL! (Except it won't end them all because we'll be doing this again - it's part of your assessment.

At 1300 hours, this Monday 29th March, Team TED led by "Stu-TED" Brenchley and Team Eninroth led by Enin-Josh Bryson will present the work each team has done and give an insight to how their game might look and play. The Diploma Stage 2s will be handling the presentation.

Present in this combined class will be all Diploma students Stage 1 & 2 and all Cert IV students.

This is your way to understand exactly what your team's project is and it will also give you an opportunity to do a little industrial espionage on your opponents'work.

This is an important day - so y'all be there!

And let the games begin.

Robot model render

Here is "romantic-bot." Phil gets what I'm saying.

I have to add some more details... such as a weapon of some sort.
Will update once I've had time to add the extra pieces.

Here is my finished Rocketbot model.. I still have to unwrap, texture and rig it, but I have completed the animation forhis tank tracks.

My HUD ideas

This is my HUD, it has a few features that need explaining.

Radar: Enemies have 3 different states on the radar. Grey is if the enemy hasn't detected the player, Orange is if the enemy has detected you and is seeking you out, and Red is if the enemy is engaging you. The different states also have different sonar ping: Grey is slow ping, Orange is medium ping and Red is fast ping. The radar rotates with the player, and it has a north indicator for orientation.

Objectives: Primary is just regular, completed objectives are greyed and crossed out, and secondary objectives (if there are any) are indented.

Reticule: The reticule changes with each different weapon.

Communicator: Pops up when somebody (Eg. Dad) is talking to you. His dialogue is displayed on the bottom, and a 2D image of the person who is talking is on the top. The image could be animated (simply, like one frame for an open mouth and one for a closed mouth) for a comical talking look.

Health and ammo: There is a health bar, and a number for exactly how much health you are on. The weapon icon will change when you change weapons.

Rocketbot

Heres my nearly completed model.. still need to add in a few bits and pieces, eg rocket launchers, eject points for the hand launchers, chest armour and eyes, then I'll unwrap it, texture it and rig it so he's ready to be put in the game.
